Better, more knowledgable writers than I, have taken up the task of memorializing Michael Jacksons legacy. I’ve decided instead to simply enjoy the power of music & share some of my current favorites with you.
Let’s start off with Wale & his Back to the Feature mixtape featuring 9th Wonder on production duties. I think they scores a winner with a reworking of Warwick Avenue (Duffy). .. btw I’ve always wondered where Brittish female vocalists stash their accents when they sing.

Some of you saw this on the way in…I found this remix on YouTube from a Dutch producer & I have to say it speaks volumes about the eventual & inevitable maturation of the Hip-Hop Generation. With every listen, I’m reminded not only of the swagger in Nas’ youthful voice, but how in youth these words & others contributed to our shared values and essentially formed the building blocks of the future.
Termanology is making the rounds dissin’ tight pants wearing n—-s on this classic track…I might agree with a few points that he makes here and there but he could make his case in sign language & I’ll be happy to listen to the instrumental all the same.
