The Dock Of The “Bay” III: Where’s Davis Exactly?

It’s not exactly situated in the Bay Area, but it’s close enough for outsiders to think so. As we’re about to round the corner into 2008, I think it’s important to let the people know what’s going on with The Dock of the Bay series… 1. I’m not going to do an epic shot-by-shot analysis […]

As we’re about to round the corner into 2008, I think it’s important to let the people know what’s going on with The Dock of the Bay series…

1. I’m not going to do an epic shot-by-shot analysis of the Hiero/Hobo battle like originally planned. When I was coming up, it was this mystical thing (as I came up outside the reach of KMEL or The Wake Up Show at the time) that heads heard of, but rarely -if ever had a copy of. It’s a nice footnote in Hip-hop history -but it’s like finally nailing down a Dimepiece only to discover that she works it like a 3.7

Saafir comes nice with the lyrics (even if it was indeed written) btw. Overall, It could have been 15 minutes shorter and had fewer heads get on (trust, you’ll know who they are), but it’s what it’s -decide for yourself, download it here

2. I’m also toying with the idea of gettin’ an old roommate in on the Yay action, as his Tape/CD collection of Bay Area Hip-Hop rivals Amoeba Records -well..not quite but you get the idea.

You can also thank Mike-ill for a renewed interest in my beloved The Dock of the Bay series by droppin’ this little gem from Latryx (circa 1997) back when Quannum Projects was a little label/collective centered around UC Davis called Solesides. In fact, you can do it in person this Friday at the Store 13 Anniversary Party.
